Our client was pulled over in a small NJ town one evening because his rear license plate wasn’t illuminated, as required by law. But he was shocked to be told that his driver’s license was suspended. Our investigation revealed that he’d had a minor ticket years before, and paid the fine – but the DMV failed to record the payment, triggering the suspension. We got his driver’s license restored, paid a small fine for the obscured plates, and persuaded the prosecutor to drop the serious charge of driving while suspended. We did this all without our client having to attend court.
