We represented a wife in her 30s who wanted a divorce. Her husband did not want a divorce and refused to discuss the divorce, but our family law team and attorneys quickly and professionally prepared and served the divorce petition on him. By serving the petition on her husband quickly, we were able to alert him and our client was able to discuss the divorce with him. The client and her husband had a one-year-old baby and needed to discuss child support and custody. Eventually, the husband hired an attorney, and our family law attorney began negotiations with the opposing counsel, and through dogged negotiation was able to obtain sole legal and physical custody, with reasonable visitation rights assigned to the husband. Along with child support, an overall satisfactory settlement was reached and the client was able to successfully finalize the divorce.
